Cellar Arts Club’s new quarterly night, Heroes of Dance Music, is privileged to have junglist originator and drum & bass don Jumpin Jack Frost in the house. He will be doing a two-hour DJ set and will also be in conversation, earlier in the evening, with music journalist Thomas H Green. Frost was there through the rise of rave culture, and later at the vanguard during the first explosion of drum & bass. With Bryan Gee, he cofounded the critically acclaimed label V Recordings, and he was also responsible, under the name Leviticus, for the classic tune ‘Burial’. Frost’s journey from Brixton to the world is laid out in his autobiography ‘Big Bad & Heavy’, searingly honest about the highs and lows, about the criminality and addiction that beset his life (copies will be available to be signed). Nowadays, he’s regarded as one of the statesman for the scene, engaging with discussions about mental health on his YouTube Frost Reports and in his role as Ambassador for the We Are Hummingbird organization. This is a chance to spend an evening up close with a true Hero of Dance Music. There will also be sets from supporting DJs TBA. Tickets: https://www.wegottickets.com/event/565268
